Magnetically shielded rooms

In BioMag, there are two magnetically shielded rooms (MSRs, built by ETS Lindgren, Euroshield Ltd.), one for MCG and another one for MEG. The site was selected on the basis of noise level (about 1 nT/(root Hz) at 2–5 Hz) and distance to Cardiology and Neurology Departments. The required shielding factor (30–80 dB from 0.1 to 100 Hz) was exceeded by 10–20 dB.

In both rooms:

• A subject on a wheeled bed can be entered and studied.
• There are openings in the walls for stimuli and monitoring.
